Taylor Swift is a busy girl these days. During her Speak Now Tour the 21 year old jetted to New York last week for the launch of her fragrance Wonderstruck and recently she flew to Nashville to receive another award.
Swift received the Songwriter/Artist of the Year at the 41st Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Renaissance Hotel on Sunday. This is the fourth time in five years that the Nashville Songwriters Association International has honored Swift. Swift was quite gracious to accept the award and thanked everyone in the room for giving her the honor and said that she is going to keep trying to not mess this up. Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson were this year’s inductees and Swift even performed a cover of Jackson’s “Where Were You” for the crowd. In addition to launching her fragrance and winning awards, Swift is also spreading the gift of books.
She has partnered with Scholastic to donate 6,000 books to kids in the city where she was born. The value of the books is estimated to be $68,000 and it’s hoped the collection of books, which was chosen by workers at the learning establishment, will help boost the economically-troubled library. Each of the books will have a white star on its spine and a special sticker indicating it’s a Taylor-donated book. What do you think of Taylor’s newest award?
