Good day everyone,
I was in need of some quality conditioner. The last (and first) time I had ever used professionel hair care has been so long ago that I don't recall the brand name.
It sounded like Keratine and it was amazing... I had tried everything from the more "expensive" drug store brands, like John Frieda, Klorane, Rene Furterer and Biosilk, but they didn't do much, so I decided to stick to a regular but nice line from Pantene called Silky Smooth, which is build up, frizz free and does the job.
I'm on a student budget, and I had heard that quality in hair care products doesn't really matter. That's true if your hair never goes through anything. My hair gets brittle and sensitive from styling, blowdrying, dyeing, etc. ... Even a quality shampoo, not just a conditioner, makes my hair feel a lot more like blank canvas hair again (the best kind: soft, full of body, even in thickness, shiney, shimmering with health). Yet I decided to play it safe for my wallet and only go for a quality conditioner. I didn't know what I was looking for anyway.
Because I'm mega shy to walk into small shops, and barbers are my worst enemies, I decided to go to Ici Paris instead, which has a small line of L'Oreal Professional. I thought it would be a safe bet since L'Oreal Professional is the brand that comes up the most when you type in "professional shampoo" in Google images. I'm not a big fan of the regular L'Oreal hair products, but then again I didn't like any of the regular hair products, hehe. It was all just enough for survival.
And...I'd rather spend 20 euros on a bottle of products that makes my hair look like I came from the barber 10 times than to visit a barber shop for 150 euros (they charge loads for people with long hair...)... and look exactly the same, only with hair that's been cut way too short...
The sales lady at Ici Paris asked to feel my hair, and to my surprise she told it me it was very dry, even though I thought it looked healthy and because I thought it looked better than hers (lol). She recommended me to use the L'Oreal Professional Intense Repair Mask every time for 10 minutes after washing, to, you guess, repair the hair. This product makes the hair more souple and nourishes it. Surprisingly she also managed to cell me another conditioner, and for colored hair, while my hair hasn't been colored in a few months. I thought it couldn't hurt since masks and conditioners are different and color protecting conditioner neither. Again to my surprise she told me apply the Vitamino Color Incell Hydro Resist Conditioner after the mask, focusing on the ends of my hair to lock in the moisture inside the cells and to protect the color. Hmm my gut told me to apply the conditioner on my lengths and the mask on my ends, but I went home to try it, used a regular shampoo and these two products in the order the lady told me and I was amazed! The mask was very thick, much thicker than any drugstore mask. It will last a lot longer than them! And the conditioner contains a very delicate shimmer. Both products have a typical professional smell, which I love! Makes me feel luxurious.
My hair felt and looked brilliant, felt fresh against the skin of my neck instead of giving it a hard time to breathe through the brittleness (and perhaps the classic buildup) of my hair. The next day, after styling, my hair still had amazing body. People told me I looked great. When I went to the bathroom there was harsh light in which I could see the amazing shine my hair had. Yes, the conditioner does contain some sort of mica, but it doesn't matter. These products were way better than any regular drugstore product.
I believe they were both around 16 euros.
I would definitely buy L'Oreal Professional again!
x
Helena
